The 4th match of the Asia ODI Series will be played between Bangladesh and Afghanistan on Sunday, 3rd September. The game is scheduled at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. 

The Bangla Tigers have not got a dream start to their campaign as they tasted a defeat against Sri Lanka in the first match. Sri Lanka chased down the target of 165 runs with ease within 39 overs to hand over Bangladesh their first loss. The best batsman for the side is Najmul Hossain Shanto with 89 runs under his belt. The best bowler in the bowler’s guild is their star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who has taken 2 wickets till now.

Afghanistan on the other hand hasn’t been in the best of form when it comes to the ODI format of the game. They have recently lost a 3-match ODI series against Pakistan where they were white-washed by a 3-0 margin. Also, they managed a series win against Bangladesh by a margin of 2-1 which was played in July previously this year.

Pitch and Weather Conditions

The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore  Stadium has long boundaries, also the outfield is quick, which results in the batsmen scoring more runs here. This surface isn’t for the pacers and hence they shouldn’t think of getting rewarded much. But spinners will trouble batsmen as the ball grips and turns on this pitch swiftly.

Lahore will have an overcast sky on the matchday, and there is speculation about downpours. The skipper winning the toss will be choosing to bat first and a score of 280 runs shall be enough to defend on this ground.

Afghanistan possess a strong bowling attack which they developed in recent years. The thing that worries their management is their batting attack. They must prove with their batting side in order to win this game and survive in this tournament. We expect a close fight between the Bangla and the Afghan Tigers, but Bangladesh has a slight edge and we back them to win this match.
