Preview 

England is set to host Australia in five ODIs after a T20I series that ended in a tie. The opening match of the ODI leg will occur at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Thursday, September 19.  The hosts will still be without their regular white ball skipper Jos Buttler, who hasn’t entirely recovered from his injury. Harry Brook would lead the hosts for the first time in his absence. Explosive batter Ben Duckett has also joined the ODI squad whereas express pacer Jofra Archer will be playing his first ODI in 18 months.  

Further, the visitors will also see the return of the talismanic Steve Smith and promising  Marnus Labuschagne. The returns of Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell will also bolster the men in yellow. Considering the Champions Trophy 2025, these five matches will be paramount for both teams.
