Australia-England Test To celebrate the 150 years of test cricket

The visit of Australia to England is scheduled for a one-off Test match from March 11 to 15, 2027. It was announced in an email by the Ind-T20 League, which further communicated the tournament window for the next three seasons.

This historic match, organised by Cricket Australia, will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), a venue that wears weight as has once witnessed milestone matches in 1877 and 1977. The forthcoming Test is a reprise of the Centenary Test that Australia had won by 45 runs in 1977, a scenario similar to that of the first-ever Test match of 1877.

It is also worth mentioning that the Test 2027 will coincide with the Ind-T20 League season scheduled to run from March 14 to May 30. Ind T20 League informed that the cricketers from Australia and England will join their respective franchises after completing the Test.

Before this iconic match, both the teams will contest the Ashes series, which will start on November 21, 2025, in Perth, with the final Test of the series set for January 4, 2026, in Sydney. After this series, England will host the 2027 Ashes and continue the intense fray between these cricketing powers.
