Bangalore Franchise is now one of the five teams that purchased a team in the much anticipated Indian Women’s T20 League.
On Wednesday, the franchise already managed one of the first eight men's Indian T20 League teams, announced the change on its social media accounts, and unveiled a new franchise logo.
Making history, breaking through boundaries, and acting courageously! Bangalore Franchise proudly owns the Bengaluru Women's T20 League team, and the franchise tweeted a picture of the new emblem that includes a symbol of the female gender sign.
The Board of Control for Indian Cricket previously revealed the five franchises for the first season of the women's IND T20 League are "Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Lucknow, Delhi."
"Today is a momentous day for cricket as the first Women’s IND T20 League bids for teams shattered the marks set by the first-ever Men's Indian T20 League in 2008! We received a total offer of Rs. 4669.99 Cr. Thus, congratulations to the victors, Indian Cricket Board Secretary Jay Shah tweeted.
"This represents the beginning of a revolution in women's cricket and lays the way for a revolutionary path ahead for our women cricketers and the broader sports community," he said. The Indian Women’s T20 League would provide an all-encompassing ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders and will bring about essential improvements in women's cricket.
