2nd Test: IND vs BAN

After winning the first test match convincingly team India will face off against Bangladesh in the second test match of the 2-match test series starting from Friday, 27th September - Tuesday, 01st October 2024. This match is scheduled to take place at Green Park, Kanpur, India. Rohit Sharma-led team India's long-waited test return came with a positive result, the Hosts outclassed the Bangla Tigers after losing the toss and were asked to bat first.

He was assisted by Taskin Ahmed who took 3 wickets, while Nahid Rana and Mehidy Hasan Miraz got 1-1 wicket each. Bangladesh's batting order remained helpless in front of the quality seam and spin attack of Team India, and the visitors were bowled out in just 149 runs. Jasprit Bumrah claimed four wickets under his belt. Siraj, Ashwin and Jadeja got two wickets each.

In the second innings, team India got a healthy lead of 227 runs, and they declared their innings on 287/4 courtesy of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant's hundred who scored 119 and 109 runs respectively which powered the Hosts to post a humongous target of 515 in front of the Visitors. While chasing the target, Bangladesh got a good start. Bumrah's class got the better off Zakir Hasan who Yashasvi Jaiswal caught in the slip. Soon after that, Bangla Tigers once again found themselves in trouble and bowled out on 234.

For Bangladesh, only skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto was the lone warrior who scored 82 runs which was not enough for him to secure a victory for his side. In the bowling department, the spin web of Ashwin and Jadeja combined got 9 wickets, Ashwin claimed six wickets while Jadeja got three and Bumrah got one wicket. This complete all-around team performance notched team India a massive 280-run win over Bangladesh.
