Basit Ali Applauds Indian Player's Golden Words as Kamran Ghulam Shines with Century on Test Debut

Ex-Pakistan batter Basit Ali praised Test debutant Kamran Ghulam for his ton in the first innings of the second Test match against England in Multan. Basir hit out at Michael Vaughan and recalled Rohit Sharma’s golden words.

The ex-England legend has questioned the decision to drop Babar Azam due to his patchy form and include Ghulam as his replacement.

Former Pakistan Cricket Council president Ramiz Raja also criticized the management for dropping Babar Azam. Basit Ali responded to such statements.

“Ghulam came out to bat when the score was 19/2. It was said that resting Babar was wrong, and the sponsors wouldn’t come. Show Ghulam’s picture to Michael Vaugahn and tell him he has arrived,” Basit Ali said.

“Pakistan Cricket Council chairman Mohsin Naqvi will be pleased today. He had said that there was no replacement player available. But kudos to the new selectors for introducing a new kid, and he scored a hundred on debut. These bold decisions can improve Pakistan’s cricket. Like Rohit Sharma, one said that it is important to give respect to domestic cricket,” he added.

Out of 59 innings, Ghulam has accumulated over 4000 runs at an average of almost 50 in first-class cricket.

In the meantime, England won the first Test by an innings and 47 runs.
