Visitors Los Blancos held 2-2 against Bayern Munich in the first leg of Semis

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel admitted he was disappointed after his team failed to beat Real Madrid. He said his team should be able to secure victory in this match at Allianz Arena held a big match however this could not happen and both sides settled with two goals each in the first leg of the 2023/2024 Champions League semifinals on Tuesday(30th April 2024). 

In that match, Bayern Munich initially had a 2-1 lead over the visitors, however, a few minutes before normal time ended, Madrid was able to equalize at 2-2 thanks to Vinicius Junior's penalty. Tuchel admitted that he was disappointed that his team could not cross the line in that match. "We started this match well," said Tuchel to Prime Video. According to Tuchel, in the first half, his team's performance was slack after making a good start. That's why Real Madrid was able to score the first goal in this match. "We could have scored a goal in the early minutes. But after that we didn't play according to our plan," continued Tuchel.

"I don't know why we did it like that. Then we conceded and everything became more difficult." According to Tuchel, Bayern Munich played better in the second half and they should have won that match. However, he was disappointed that his team conceded and lost their lead. "Our performance improved in the second half, we showed better determination," continued Tuchel. "We managed to lead 2-1 and we created lots of chances and we should have scored the third goal. But everything felt strange because Los Blancos were able to turn two chances into two goals," complained the manager. Bayern Munich will play one match before playing the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu next week.

They will face Stuttgart on Saturday(04th May 2024).
