BCB re-appoints Sridharan Sriram as team's technical consultant
Sridharan Sriram rejoins as Bangladesh's Technical Consultant
On Thursday Bangladesh Cricket Boards said that they have named former T20 head coach Sridharan Sriram as technical consultant of the national cricket team for the upcoming World Series scheduled in India from October 5.
"Yes, we have appointed him (Sriram) as technical consultant for the forthcoming World Series," Khaled Mahmud, team director of the Bangladesh Cricket Team for the forthcoming marquee event.
Sriram has earlier served as the technical consultant of the team ahead of the T20 World Series last year. That is when the board introduced the split coaching setup and presented the responsibility of ODIs and Test to Russel Domnigo, who later stepped down from his position.
Domingo was later replaced by Chadika Hathurusingha by the BCB as the head coach across formats and it brought an end to Sriram's tenure with Bangladesh in his first stint.
Bangladesh’s skipper Shakib Al Hasan (in all formats) has been an ardent admirer of Sriram’s work and always backed him during the last T20 World Series while the ex indian cricketer is said to be one of the primary reasons behind the recent success of Najmul Hossain and Bangladesh. Hossain enjoyed the backing of Hossain against all odds in T20I World Series and he repaid the trust by becoming the top scorer for his nation in the tournament.
