The Indian Board is planning for a closing ceremony to end the Indian T20 League season
A new time and a closing ceremony, Indian board is doing everything possible to end the season in a grand manner. According to several reports, Ranveer Singh and AR Rahman are supposed to perform at the Wankhede Stadium on the night of the final. The board has also changed the match timing as the match will now start at 8 pm and will be live at Star Sports and Disney+Hotstar.
“The start of the final will be slightly pushed back to 8 pm due to a 40-minute closing ceremony preceding it. Due to Covid, this is the first time since 2019 when the board is organising a closing ceremony for the Indian T20 League, and it wants to celebrate the occasion in grand fashion," a source in the Indian board told TOI on Thursday.
The board also wants to celebrate the 75th year of India’s Independence in a grand manner and thus expect a cultural touch before the grand finale. As of now, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Lucknow have qualified for the playoffs and any one team between Delhi, Bangalore and Punjab will be playing the Eliminator at Eden Gardens.
The final of this lucrative tournament will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium on 29th of May.
