Caribbean T20 League to kick off on Aug 16
The upcoming season of the Caribbean T20 League will kick off on August 16, three days after the India-West Indies series which is scheduled to conclude in Florida, US. The 11th season will run till September 24.
The India tour itinerary is yet to be announced but Real11 understands that it will end on August 13 with T20I at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Florida.
As earlier reported, the last two games of the series will be played in the US. Overall, there will be two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is with the tour set to commence in the second week of July. As per a Cricket West Indies official, the Indian fixtures will be declared soon.
The tournament is being planned, as usual, in a caravan model across different centres with the inaugural match in Saint Lucia.
The T20 event gets underway in Saint Lucia with six matches at the Darren Sammy Cricket ground between August 16 and August 20 with the home side competing in four of those fixtures. The tournament will then move to St Kitts & Nevis with six matches at the Warner Park between August 23 and 27 with four games for the hosts, St Kitts & Nevis.
The subsequent leg of the competition will be played in Barbados with the Caribbean T20 League returning to the nation for the first time since 2019. Six matches are slated at the Kensington Oval with four games for Barbados. The matches will be played in Barbados from August 30 to September 3. Trinidad and Tobago will host league matches from September 5 to 10 with four games for the home side and six matches in total.
The last and final phase of the tournament will be played in Guyana with the matches running from September 13 to September 24. The knockout stages will also take place in Guyana, which hosted last season’s final as well.
