Chameera replaces Atkinson at Kolkata

Sri Lanka speedster Dushmantha Chameera has been named as the replacement for Gus Atkinson by Kolkata for Ind T20 League 2024. 

"Chameera will join KOL at a reserve price of INR 50 Lakh," said a statement from Ind T20 League. Chameera has previously enjoyed stints with Rajasthan, Bangalore and most recently for Lucknow in 2022 in the Ind T20 League. 

Atkinson, who is yet to make an Ind T20 appearance, had been picked up at his base price of INR 1 crore by Kolkata in the Ind T20 League auction in December 2023. Chameera went unsold during the auction.  

Chameera was out of action due to shoulder injury. He was on the sidelines for the Sri Lankan team for quite some time last year. Recently Chameera featured in the IL20 in UAE and also played against Afghanistan for Sri Lanka.
