Chennai star keeper MS Dhoni gets a new tag from Navjot Singh Sidhu

MS Dhoni is the most famous and followed cricketer in the Indian T20 League history. The fans take the stadium by storm on his arrival in the crease. The buzz revolving around his retirement from the cash-rich league in the previous two or three years has made his fans emotional. The Yellow Army is almost present in every part of the country and stadiums become jampacked whenever Chennai plays against them. 

The atmosphere in Chennai is electrifying. Dhoni has always been the most popular player not only in the city but also in the whole country. In their previous fixture against Kolkata, he faced a few balls, that was enough to make his diehard supporters go crazy. The cricketing legend is doing his best to make his fans happy and even came to bat before his spot in the fifth match of the Indian T20 League 2024. 

Ex-Indian Cricketer, Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has recently made his return to the commentary panel has named him as the ‘brand ambassador of happiness.’ “He brings happiness to the face of fans. Dhoni is everything for them. For me, he is the brand ambassador of happiness. Dhoni makes them go crazy, and they enjoy it whenever he is on the ground,” Navjot Singh Sidhu expressed.

In the meantime, the Southern side has displayed their team strength against the two-time champions Kolkata. Although Shreyas Iyer and Co. scored more than 50 runs in the powerplays, the bowlers restricted them to a below-average total of 135 runs. 

Tushar Deshpande and Ravindra Jadeja picked three wickets apiece. The chase was headed by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad who smashed a fifty and headed his side to win the match by 7 wickets with 14 balls to spare. Chennai now stands in the fourth position with 3 wins in 5 matches whereas Kolkata’s three-match winning streak comes to an end and are sitting below the table toppers Rajasthan.
