Chennai host Bangalore in tournament opener

Reigning champions Chennai (CHE) will host Bangalore (BAN) in the Ind T20 2024 opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 22. The other finalist of last year- Gujarat (GUJ) will make a smashing start to their campaign against their former skipper Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai in Ahmedabad on March 24.

The Indian Cricket Board released a partial release for the upcoming season- for the first 17 days (March 22- April 7) during which 21 matches will be held. In this duration four double headers will be played. 

Punjab and Delhi will headline the first afternoon game of the season on March 23 in  Mohali, while KOL’s season commences at home against Hyderabad later on the same day. Rajasthan’s season will get underway on the first Sunday of the season against Lucknow. 

This phase of the season will not see Delhi hosting any matches with the home side playing their home games in Vizag. The Indian Cricket Board is expected to announce the remainder of the schedule once the Election Commision of India releases the General Election dates.
