Crystal Palace has not found its way this season

Roy Hodgson's second stint with EPL side Crystal Palace did not go smoothly. Shortly, The Eagles will end the contract with the 76-year-old manager if Palace fails to show optimal performance in the 2023/2024 season. Until match 24, Palace was in 15th position in the Premier League standings and they only won six times and lost 12 times facing a most disastrous season.

This situation is considered quite disturbing for Palace moreover, they have always lost the last two matches, having been eliminated from the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. This condition makes Palace directors intend to carry out refreshments in the coaching chair. Roy Hodgson is considered no longer the right option for the team, he first coached Crystal Palace from 2017 to 2021. At the end of the 2020/2021 season, Hodgson separated and had plans to retire however, he returned to manage Watford in January 2022. In March 2023, Hodgson went down the mountain again and coached Palace for the second stint during that time he replaced Patrick Vieira.

So, after a series of minor results in the 2023/2024 season, quoted from Fabrizio Romano's report, Hodgson and Palace's togetherness will end. The club and Hodgson will discuss and part ways on good terms and Palace has prepared a replacement for Hodgson, namely Oliver Glasner. As reported the negotiations with the 49-year-old have begun and are very positive. The former Frankfurt and Wolfsburg coach is ready to accept the challenge of becoming Palace coach.
