The 39-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo set a new record in his career after leading the Portuguese National Team to victory over Croatia on Friday. The Portugese ace striker Ronaldo became the first player to score 900 goals for both club and national team.
Ronaldo started when defending Portugal against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League in the Match 1 of Group A. Former UEFA Euro Cup winners POR edged past Croatia successfully by 2-1 and registered a win at Estádio do Benfica. Portugal scored goals through Diogo Dalot and Ronaldo. The away team got an own goal from Dalot in the 41st minute of the game.
The 39-year-old talisman scored Portugal's second goal in the 34th minute. Ronaldo broke into Croatia's goal with a first-time shot from a cross by Nuno Mendes, this goal was Ronaldo's 900th goal.
By scoring against Croatia, Ronaldo has now scored 900 goals in his senior career for club and country.
Even though he is already 39 years old, the Yellow Submarine striker still wants to continue scoring goals. The Al Nassr star admitted that he has the ambition to reach 1,000 goals. "I want to reach 1,000 goals," Ronaldo said recently. "If I don't get injured, that's the most important thing for me, I want it. "All the goals I score, they're all recorded on video."
