David Warner names this Indian player a possible threat against Australia
Australia veteran cricketer David Warner is worried about the Australian team for the upcoming five-match Test series against India. He states Virat Kohli is a possible threat in the upcoming matches and feels that the Indian batter could rise again in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024. Many other former players have struck off Kohli’s name as the Indian run machine has only accumulated 93 runs in six innings against New Zealand previously.
The 38-year-old Aussie cricketer thinks that Kohli could present one of his best performances in Australia, a place where he has left his imprint in the past. Notably, Kohli has scored six centuries at an average of over 50 in 13 Test matches in Australia.
“This is the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and Virat loves challenges. He has been the best overseas batter to play in Australia. There is no better place for him to come out of poor form and give a reply to critics. I’m genuinely worried for the Australian cricket team as he can pile on runs,” Warner mentioned in his column for Herald Sun.
Not only this star batter but there are many more blunt knives on the list of India’s squad. KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Sarfaraz Khan haven’t shined in recent times, out of which Gill has been ruled out of the series opener citing a thumb fracture. Also, Sarfaraz, Jaiswal and Jurel lack experience on the Australian soil. Out of the three prime pacers, Mohammed Shami is out of the team recovering from a long-time injury, while Mohammed Siraj is struggling with his form, leaving the vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah under pressure.
The Kangaroos have a good chance of winning the first Test series against India in a decade. The Indian side although had won the previous two BGT series Down Under.
