Paraguay edges past Brazil in the 2026 WC Qualifiers - CONMEBOL.

Brazil suffered a defeat from Paraguay in matchday 8 of the 2026 WC Qualifiers - CONMEBOL competition on Wednesday(11th September) while competing at the Estadio Defensores del Chaco, the Samba side lost with a score of 0-1.

Paraguay's only winning goal was scored by Diego Gomez in the first half. Meanwhile, Brazil failed to reply despite having several chances. With this result, Brazil is ranked fifth in the standings with a collection of 10 points after 8 games, winning only three matches. Meanwhile, Paraguay is in 7th position with nine points after 8 matches, they won only two matches. The table toppers Argentina also lost 1-2 last night against Colombia but this could affect them as they remained four points clear of the top, followed by Colombia who has 14 points.
