Emmanuel Petit comments on Anthony Martial's situation at Man Utd

Former Chelsea player Emmanuel Petit commented on Anthony Martial's situation at Manchester United. Petit believes it is time for Martial to leave the Red Devils. The French man Martial joined Manchester United in the summer of 2015 and he was bought from AS Monaco for a fee of €60 million. Until now, the 27-year-old forward Martial is still defending the Red Devils. However, his performance was considered less than optimal because he often suffered injuries. Last season, Martial played 29 matches in all competitions with the Red Devils. He scored nine goals and three assists from those appearances. Martial has not been the first choice under Erik Ten Hag. Because of this, Petit advised Martial to leave Manchester United.

"It's time for Anthony Martial to leave. Monaco is top of the table and the Ligue 1 side is scoring goals with a good striker, so I'm not sure he will go there," Petit in an interview. "I don't know which club is the best for Martial, but I know it's time for him to leave Manchester United". Martial left France at the age of 19. The 52-year-old French former footballer Petit believes that Martial will not return to his country if he does leave Manchester United. "He's been at Manchester United for too long and it's very frustrating because he has great quality but too many injuries make it difficult.

"I'm not sure if he'll come back to Ligue 1. When you're away for a long time it's difficult to come back, especially after a period where he wasn't good enough. "If he was at Manchester United for many years and scored a lot of goals, became one of the best strikers in the Premier League and won titles, then it would be better for him to return to France, but I think he will look for a different country."
