Injured Haaland fit for the blockbuster clash against Liverpool: Sources

Erling Haaland is fit for the top table battle against Liverpool on Saturday, according to sources. The Norwegian international injured himself during the international break and was uncertain for the summit clash. 

Haaland, who is currently the leading goal scorer this season with 13 goals, injured his ankle during Norway’s friendly win against the Faroe Islands last Thursday and was forced to pull out from the squad for the Euro 2024 qualifier against Scotland due to the problem. 

The Norway team doctor stated that the striker was in excruciating pain owing to the injury, which aggravated a similar problem suffered while playing against Bournemath earlier this season. 

But upon returning to his club for treatment at the starting of this week, Haaland was back to training on Thursday, giving Pep a selection boost ahead of the fixture with second placed Liverpool this weekend. 

A picture of Haaland in action at the club’s training ground was posted by City’s official X account in the evening. 

The two time treble winner is expected to give an update on his prolific goalscorers recovery when he holds his pre match conference on Friday.
