Preview

The stage is set, Spain and England are all ready to square off in the Euro 2024 final at Olympiastadion, Berlin on Monday(15th July) at 12:30 AM IST. Spain were winners of Euro 1964, Euro 2008 and Euro 2012, and runners-up at Euro 1984. The Euro 2024 final will be their fifth. In contrast, England have never won the Euros. So far, England have only been runners-up once, when they lost on penalties to Italy in the final of the previous edition of the Euros (Euro 2020).

In the semifinals, Spain won 2-1 over France, having fallen behind to a goal by Randal Kolo Muani in the 9th minute, Spain then turned things around. Luis de la Fuente's team turned things around through goals from Lamine Yamal in the 21st minute and Dani Olmo in the 25th minute.

Meanwhile, England beat the Netherlands, also with a 2-1 comeback score. Trailing to a quick Xavi Simons goal in the 7th minute, England turned things around through a Harry Kane penalty in the 18th minute and an Ollie Watkins goal in the 90th minute.

In the knockout stages, England always conceded first. Against Slovakia in the round of 16, England conceded first but managed to come back and win 2-1 in extra time. Against Switzerland in the quarter-finals, England fell behind again before finally drawing 1-1, and winning on penalties, the situation also happened against the Netherlands.

Against Spain, the Three Lions may have to make sure they don't concede first, that would put England in a bad situation. Because Spain is not the same as England's previous opponents. They are more frightening. In Euro 2024, La Roja is even recorded as the only team that is still perfect.

In addition, in terms of scoring goals, Spain (13 goals) is more ferocious than England (7 goals). Spain's goal-scoring figure (3 goals) is also better than England's (4 goals). On paper, SPN deserves to be the favourite to beat ENG and win this tournament.
