Michael Vaughan takes a dig at the Men in Green after their recent loss against the Three Lions

Ex-England cricketer and present commentator Michael Vaughan took a dig at the Pakistan Cricket Team after the visitors lost to England in the second T20I. The England Cricket Council has called back its players from the Indian T20 League 2024, in the middle of the season, only to play the series against Pakistan. The first match was abandoned due to heavy downpour.

To this development, the former England skipper criticised Pakistan’s loss at Edgbaston T20I by 23 runs. Vaughan said that some English players should be allowed to play in the Indian T20 League for their respective franchises.

Vaughan felt that the Three Lions missed a lot by not allowing their players to compete for their Indian League title.

“England missed the trick by recalling players from India. Will Jacks, Phil Salt, and Jos Buttler would have benefitted by playing in the playoffs because of the competition level and the pressure of fans. I would say that playing in Indian T20 League is better than playing against Pakistan,” Vaughan said in the podcast.

England are the title defender of the World T20 League.

“I am all for international cricket. However, the league in India is exposed to pressure. The players are put under pressure by fans, owners, and social media. I wanted to see Will Jacks and Phil Salt turning up for Bengaluru and Kolkata in the second round of the Indian T20 League,” he added.
