Ex-Pakistan cricketer Hasan Raza Accuses Team India Of 'DRS Manipulation'

The Men in Blue roped yet another sensational victory in this World Cup ODI season. The most fierce team who was giving nightmares to all seemed like child’s play when facing the Indian Tigers at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata. With this win against the Proteas, team India secured their 8th consecutive win in as many matches played in this tournament so far. South Africa was thrashed 326 runs in the first innings by the Indian batters, with a noteworthy performance from Virat Kohli who scored 101* runs to mark his 49th century in One Day Internationals matching the record of his idol, ‘the great’ Sachin Tendulkar.

At the spike of retaliation, the seasoned South African batters surrendered in front of the Indian bowling attack. Jadeja ran over the Proteas batting order with his 5-wicket haul to fetch a massive 243-run victory for the Indian side. But as we know there remain some critics like that of former Pakistan cricketer Hasan Raza who felt like the Men in Blue are ‘manipulating DRS’ to their things done.

Raza in a talk show on the Pakistani TV channel expressed that the DRS manipulation in the World Cup has been a key to success in the World Cup campaign for the hosts. He also supported his statement by citing the example of Rassie van der Dussen’s dismissal in the India vs South Africa game.

"Jadeja picked up five wickets and finished with career-best figures. We were talking about technology where DRS was being taken. Van de Dussen was the batter and the ball was hitting the middle stump after pitching on leg stump. How is that possible?

"The impact was in line, but the ball was headed towards the leg stump. Like everyone else, I am just sharing my opinion. I am saying that such things should be checked. DRS is being manipulated and that is clearly visible," Raza stated.

While continuing his statement, he added that India manipulated DRS in the World Cup league stage match against Pakistan too.

"It was not the first time. The review in the match between Pakistan and South Africa and the last wicket partnership. They did not even apologise. Home conditions and home advantages come into play," he added.

The ex-Pakistan cricketer also boasted that the Indian side manipulated the DRS back in the 2011 World Cup too, pinpointing the infamous incident of Sachin Tendulkar and Saeed Ajmal.

Raza considers it a kind of 'home advantage' and the power of the Indian Apex Council that has played a vital role in Team India's supremacy in the ODI World Cup this year.
