Rajasthan lost the match by 10 runs against Lucknow

The current table toppers in the ongoing IND T20 League Rajasthan fell short by 10 runs against 2nd placed Lucknow on Wednesday while chasing 155 runs. Sanju Samson-led RAJ was looking in a comfortable position to win this match easily after RAJ got a solid start as both the opening batters Buttler 40 (41) and Jaiswal 44 (35) stitched a respectable 87 runs in under 12 overs. But the KL Rahul-led LUC bowlers kept things tight during the outing with Stoinis taking crucial two wickets only by conceding 28 runs in 4 fours.

Meanwhile, when Rajasthan needed only 48 off 24 balls, many criticised skipper Samson and RAJ management for picking up Riyan Parag over and over again, with some wondering why Parag was sent ahead of Dhruv Jurel, many others indulged in cracking memes at the expense of 21-year-old cricketer from Guwahati who just scored 15 off 12 balls in this run-chase.

Although inaugural champions of this league Rajasthan still stayed on the top with 4 wins out of 6 league matches after losing to LUC last night, it was out-of-form Parag who was mercilessly trolled on social media for yet another disappointing display with the bat, especially when his team needed a few fireworks to get over the line.

For Rajasthan's victory, the side needed 29 off 12 balls but they could not cross the line. The left-handed batter Devdutt Padikkal took 1 run on the first ball of the 19th over and gave the strike to Parag who also took a single on the second ball but on the fourth ball, Parag hit a six, stealing a single on the fifth ball and last ball of the over ended with no run concluding the over with10 runs only. Rajasthan needed 19 runs to win in the last over.

Parag smoked the first ball out of the park for the four, leaving 15 off 5 balls. After this, he took one run of leg bye on the second ball. Left-handed batter Padikkal got out on the third ball which allowed Dhruv to show his skills with the bat but he was also caught on the fence while smashing a six. Ashwin took two runs on the fifth ball and took a single on the last ball and Lucknow ended on the winning side.
