Finch makes a bold prediction for Lucknow team ahead of IND T20 League 2023
Finch explains why Lucknow can't make it to playoffs of IND T20 League 2023
Former Aussie skipper Aaron Finch has predicted that KL Rahul-led IND T20 League-based franchise Lucknow can not make it to the playoff race this time in the 16th edition of this league. 36-year-old Finch says that in the upcoming season of the IND T20 League, the Lucknow team will have to struggle to reach the playoffs. Last time, Lucknow had a great season the side ended in 3rd place.
Before the start of the IND T20 League 2023 season, he said, I do not think that the team reaches the playoffs based on its bowling. Finch believes that the team will not be very good during the death overs. Due to this, he may have to lose points in the upcoming season.
Talking to Star Sports, Aaron Finch said, "I see their death bowling potential weakness in Lucknow. The team has a lot of options in the middle order. There are some good all-rounders in the team. But I think when you look at the team combination, it will be a real challenge for them to find good bowling quality in the death overs."
During this, when Aaron Finch was asked about the combination of foreign players in the team, he chose one player each from South Africa, West Indies, Australia and England. According to Finch, "I think the inclusion of first choice Quinton De Kock, Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran and Mark Wood as overseas players for Lucknow can have a big impact'. During this, he also said that Nicholas Pooran can prove to be a game-changer for Lucknow this season."
Last year, Lucknow had a great 2022 league season under the leadership of KL Rahul and the mentorship of Gautam Gambhir. The team got off to a great start. But as the team progressed, there was a lack of consistency in it. However, despite this, KL Rahul's team was successful in reaching the playoffs last season. But they had to face defeat against Bangalore in the eliminator match played at Eden Gardens.
