"Birmingham City Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Wayne Rooney as the club's new manager," wrote Birmingham City's official statement. "He has agreed a three and a half year contract. Welcome to the Blues, Wayne."
Rooney himself admitted that he was very happy to get this job. He is ready to give his best when managing Birmingham City. "I am very pleased to be joining Birmingham City Football Club at the right time. This club has a plan and is committed to realizing this club's ambitions and we have the same view," said Rooney.
"I am building my managerial career and I need a challenging environment so that I can be ready for this opportunity. This project is something good for me and I can't wait to start my career here," he added. Rooney himself will reportedly get reinforcements when handling the Blues.
