Will Man Utd go after Brentford's striker Ivan Toney?

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha advised the Red Devils to recruit Brentford’s striker Ivan Toney. The 45-year-old former French footballer believes that the Bees forward can make an impact at Old Trafford. The 27-year-old English man will certainly be hotly contested by many clubs this summer. The 14th-placed in the league Brentford is likely to release Toney as per reports.

Toney showed good performance after serving a suspension due to a gambling case and he was given a fine of £50K ($62K). Brentford’s striker further warned over his future conduct following a personal hearing, although it's since emerged that Toney’s ban was reduced as he was diagnosed with a gambling addiction. Ivan Toney has scored three goals in four EPL matches in the 2023/24 season though he scored 20 goals for Brentford last season in 30 appearances. So Far many top English clubs are interested in signing Toney and one of them is Manchester United.

Saha is pushing his former club to bring in Toney this summer and bring more strength to the squad. According to him, The Bees’ striker could have an impact during his career at Old Trafford.“I'm sure he will make an impact because Toney has the same passion as Rasmus [Hojlund] and he will want to make a point,” Saha said in an interview.

“He has quite good experience in the Premier League, so it makes sense why the club would be interested in signing Toney and if the 27-year-old striker shows signs that he would prefer to play for 13-time EPL winners Man Utd because of their history and style of football, then this is a brilliant combination.” Ivan Toney to date has made 72 appearances in the EPL and scored 35 goals with 9 assists under his belt. He can prove to be a big asset for MU if they go after the Englishman.
