Gujarat signs Rahmamullah Gurbaz ahead of Indian T20 League 2022
Gujarat is all set to sign Rahmamullah Gurbaz as Jason Roy replacement
With just days left for the Indian T20 League to start, team Gujarat has found a replacement for Jason Roy. Flamboyant Afghani batter, Rahmamullah Gurbaz is all set to sign for the Gujarat franchise and will join the team when the camp starts.
The 20-year-old is a massive hitter of the bowl and has done relatively well for Afghanistan in the T20 World Series at UAE. He has a strike-rate of more than 150 and with that, he can keep wickets as well. This makes him a very interesting prospect and if he plays well, the Afghani can directly get involved from the first game itself as the team needs a top order batsman after Jason Roy left the club.
With Matthew Wade coming in the second week of the tournament, Gurbaz will be in direct competition with Wriddhiman Saha. He is a good striker of the ball as well but he hasn’t been a consistent T20 Player. Thus, Gurbaz has a great chance to make his debut from the very first match alongside his friends from the national camp, Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad.
Team Gujarat is yet to announce his name but the player has put the news out on his Instagram story. Now, the fans need to wait for the official communication.
