Indian cricketers grabbed headlines in the latest rankings for white-ball cricket, with noteworthy achievements in the shortest format. Hardik Pandya, India’s flamboyant all-rounder, has once against secured the top spot in the T20I all-rounder rankings. Pandya’s return to the top of the rankings is on the back of impressive performances in India’s recent 3-1 T20I series win against the Proteas, where he played an instrumental role with both bat and ball.
Young batting sensation Tilak Varma has made a sensational entry in the top 10 of the Men’s T20I rankings, ascending a remarkable 69 places following his two tons and 280 runs for the series against the men in green. Varma’s extraordinary performance in the recently concluded T20I series against SA made him the highest-ranked Indian batter in T20Is at third spot ahead of captain Suryakumar Yadav (fourth place).
Indian batter Sanju Samson has also moved up the T20I batting rankings, reaching the 22nd place after exhibiting his batting prowess against the Proteas. In the men’s T20I bowling rankings, India left-arm speedster Arshdeep Singh has achieved a career-best ranking of ninth.
Australian bowlers Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis have also made considerable progress in the T20I bowling rankings. Sri Lanka cricketers shined in both T20I and ODI rankings after their just-concluded series win against New Zealand. Kusal Mendis has climbed the T20I batting rankings, sharing the 12th position, while Maheesh Theekshana has moved to sixth in the ODI bowling rankings after performing consistently.
