Heat and Strikers face each other in match 46 in Aus T20 League 2021-22 at Gabba, Brisbane on Wednesday. Heat have had a mixed tournament thus far. They started their campaign with a loss, then found their way in the middle only to return back to the crestfallen stage. To add to their woes, the men in blue lost several players due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lynn and Duckett’s unavailability further hampered their chances of making through to the next round. Strikers on the other hand are at a stage where they are beyond repair. They found their groove in the middle stages but failed to hold onto the key moments and as a result are placed at the bottom of the table

Heat will be content with the fact that Lynn and Duckett are available for selection. They are by far their best performers and skipper Pierson will be hoping the duo to come good on Wednesday. Sam Heazlett is another batter to watch out for. The southpaw has scored 246 runs in ten innings at a decent strike rate of 126.80. Heat will rely on the Queenslander to provide them stability in the middle order. Tom Cooper is another big name in their batting department. He has been woeful this season and will be keen to get some runs under his belt. Bowling attack looks good with Bartlett, Grant and Stekette in the mix. Afghanese spin wizard Mujeeb Ur Rahman has been average by his standards this season. A good game will do a world of good for his confidence and boost his team’s survival in the T20 competition. 

Strikers have been underperforming. Batting has done well in patches, bowling has hardly shown any intent. Overall this squad is in shambles. They have some big names in their ranks who are nowhere close to their best this season. Led by Siddle, Strikers have struggled to find their feet in the tournament right from the onset. While their batters underperformed, their bowlers failed to latch on to the crucial moments. Weatherald, Wells and Short are the batters to watch out for. Renshaw will be unavailable for selection as he was tested positive for covid-19 on Monday. Bowling department comprises Siddle, Worral and Rashid who are skillful enough to rattle the opposition batters.
