Brisbane Heat clinched their first Aus T20 League title in 11 years with a stellar bowling display at the SCG

In a dazzling display of power-hitting, Josh Brown propelled the Brisbane Heat (HEA) to their second Aus T20 League title, crushing the Sydney Sixers (SIX) by 54 runs at the SCG. Brown, fresh off his record-breaking 140 in the semifinal, continued his explosive form with a quickfire half-century, ensuring the Heat's first championship in 11 years.

Opting to bat first, Brown and skipper Nathan McSweeney laid a solid foundation, setting the stage for the Heat's onslaught. Matthew Renshaw's brisk 40 off 22 balls further boosted the visitors, reaching a challenging total of 166/8 on a tricky surface.

Left-arm sensation Spencer Johnson then stole the spotlight with a remarkable performance, claiming 4-26—the best-ever figures in a Aus T20 League final. His exceptional spell left the Sixers reeling and sealed their fate in pursuit of the target.

The Sixers' chase got off to a rocky start, losing Daniel Hughes early to a brilliant delivery from Michael Neser. Despite brief resistance from Jack Edwards and Josh Philippe, Johnson's lethal bowling dismantled the Sixers' top order.
