Hetmeyer back in the Rajasthan camp; available for selection for the game against Chennai
Shimron Hetmeyer, who recently became a father, has rejoined the Rajasthan squad and will be available for selection for the final league game against Chennai on May 20.
Hours after scoring a quick 16 ball 31 in the victory against Punjab on May 8, Hetmeyer went back home to Guyana to be by the side of his wife Nirvani, who was due for their first child. Hetmeyer took to social media to express his elation and make the much anticipated announcement.
It should be noted that Hetmeyer is undergoing quarantine as per the Ind T20 League protocol and will be out in no time to train for Rajasthan’s final league game on Friday. Rajasthan have emerged firm favourites to make a place in playoffs after an emphatic win over Lucknow on Sunday, May 15.
Hetmeyer, who was bought by a whooping 8.5 crores for Rajasthan has played a critical role in their success this season. The hard hitting batsman has scored 291 runs in 11 innings at an impressive average of 72.
