Lucknow will square off against Punjab in the match no.11 of the Indian T20 League 2024. The game is scheduled to be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday, March 30. 

LUC have played only one match so far where they faced Rajasthan in Jaipur at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium last week. The Sanju Samson-led side won the toss and batted first to 193 runs for a loss of 4 wickets. Lucknow lost four wickets in the first four overs while chasing. Yet an 85-run standoff 52 deliveries between KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran which brought them back into the run chase. Ultimately all went in vain, as the RAJ bowlers held on the ropes tight to win the match by 20 runs. 

PUN, on the other hand, won their first game of the season by four wickets against Delhi at their new home stadium in Chandigarh. A fabulous bowling performance from the Shikhar Dhawan-led side helped to restrict Delhi to 174/9. A half-century by Sam Curran in the 2nd innings led Punjab to win the match with four balls to spare. 

Punjab will look forward to getting back on the winning track after tasting a defeat against BLR at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. PUN in that match, scored 176 runs for a loss of 6 wickets in the first innings. BLR, riding on the back of Virat Kohli’s tremendous 77-run knock fetched a victory in the last over of the game with four wickets to spare. 

Both teams will try to recover from their losses in their respective previous fixtures but only one will be able to turn their fortunes and bounce back harder in the tournament.

Punjab have a more balanced side who are more than capable of toppling Lucknow at their home. This match is highly anticipated to be a close fight but Punjab should come out on the winning side in the end.
