Although there have been a few low scoring affairs here and there, this edition of the Indian T20 League has been nothing short of a run fest. Match number 23 will feature two sides who have plenty of big-hitting potential in their ranks however in reality it is Hyderabad, the current holders of the highest team total in the history of the competition and a side that has   been true to type. 

Shashank Singh in the last game showed why one has to back local talents and not over rely on their overseas stars to finish off the game. The 32 year old played a gem of a knock to pull off a miraculous win for Shikhar Dhawan and co. He scored a quickfire 61* off only 29 balls. 

But that could result in vexation to the likes of Heinrich Klassen or Travis Heat, both of whom are at their bludgeoned best.

As a side who have seemed to enjoy the ‘inconsistent’ tag in recent seasons, Punjab have done very little to suggest otherwise this season so far with two wins and as many losses from their first four games!

They have looked competitive in all their meetings thus far and they defeated Gujarat in their last game with only a ball to spare in Ahmedabad.

With a side which comprises Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada, Sam Curran, Johnny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan, many are still bemused as to why this team is not competing at the top of the table. 

Hyderabad eased past Chennai in their last game as they secured a comfortable 6 wicket win with 11 balls to spare. SA international Aiden Markram scored a composed fifty and provided stability to the run chase after the opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma wreaked havoc. 

Under the leadership of Pat Cummins, Hyderabad seem a more focused side this season and their batting firepower remains the envy of all other units. With ball in hand, they have loads of variety and experience, all of which will come in handy on Tuesday.
