Lot of positives for Team India before the T20 World Series 2021

In the last two weeks of the Indian T20 League, there was a lot of tension regarding the Indian Cricket Team. Many of the players were not in form including Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Ravichandran Ashwin and many others. However, it looks like everything is sorted and team India is gearing up to lift their second T20 World title.

In a warm-up game against Australia, India beat them comfortably and registered a 9 wicket win. Ravi Ashwin was brilliant along with Jadeja and dismissed Australia’s top order when they were on 11 runs. David Warner once again failed to impress and was dismissed by Ashwin. He also took the wicket of Marsh while Jadeja cleared Finch for 8 runs.

Since then, Glenn Maxwell and Steven Smith helped Australia reach a decent total. Smith scored 57 runs while Maxwell scored 37 from 28 balls. After his dismissal, Stoinis played a brilliant innings of 41 from 25 balls and helped Australia reach 152 after 20 over’s.

Now, India’s batting has been the strength for the team for many years now. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma exactly showed why it is! Rahul started well but couldn’t finish the job as he got out at 31. Rohit scored 60 runs and gave other batsmen to bat. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, the players who were not in form, did the rest of the job. Yadav scored 38 while Pandya scored 14 from 8 balls and with that, India won the match with 13 balls still left.

Talking about the positives of the match, there has been a lot. Virat Kohli bowled a couple of over’s and may just solve India’s sixth bowler problem. Hardik Pandya is still injured and won’t be able to bowl thus India was desperate for a sixth bowling option and just when the captain stepped up to the business. Suryakumar and Ashiwn’s form will also be satisfying for the management. Virat Kohli is yet to score like he’s known for but players like him will get back in touch very soon.

Former Australia captain Steve Smith has already stated that India is favorites to win the title this year. In a press conference, he said, “They are a terrific side; they have got all bases covered and some serious match winners”.

India is definitely the favorites to win the cup. Now, with almost all the players coming back in touch, the expectations will be high. However, the players know how to deal with that!
