MI Emirates and Gulf Giants will square off for the 1st Qualifier of the International T20 League on Wednesday, February 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. 

Emirates faced another defeat in the final match of the group stage against Dubai Capitals by 19 runs. However, they do have a heavily-laced bowling attack and have proved it in the game against the Capitals, where each of their bowlers picked up at least one wicket. The Blackcaps pacer Trent Boult is expected to be the main bowling aggressor in this game. Andre Fletcher looks firm with the bat as he smashed 45 runs off 38 balls in Saturday’s match and the team would look for more such valuable contributions from him. 

On the other hand, a team with their top batters, James Vince and Jordan Cox scoring half-centuries as easily as a cakewalk, will be hard to defeat. The Giants are unbeaten in their last four matches and it gives you a brief idea regarding the hurdles the Emirates need to cross to win the match. Also, if their batters fail, they have a Plan B, i.e. their bowlers! Jamie Overton won the Player of the Match award for having figures 3/32 in the last match. Also, Chris Jordan picked 2/22 in his four-over tenure and delivered a clear statement that he is ready to take down opponent batters in the knockout stages of the tournament.
