Irfan Pathan ushers big compliments to this young Indian pace sensation

Ex-Indian pacestar Irfan Pathan is exhilarated to see the emergence of Mayank Yadav who is presently impressing with his superfast pace in this Indian T20 League 2024. The 21-year-old has shattered six scalps in two games and was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ on both occasions. His effortless throwing of above 150, led Lucknow to two straight victories in the 17th edition of the league.

The young pace sensation single-handedly dismantled the star-studded top order of Bangalore. He toppled Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar to fetch a 28-run victory for Lucknow. Irfan Pathan compared him to Aussie pacester Mitchell Starc who was roped in by Kolkata for INR 24.75 Crore.

Starc's comeback to the cash-rich league has been marked by below-par performances as he conceded more than 100 runs without picking a single wicket in the first two games for the Knights. So far, he has been confused with his style and has been smashed all around the park by Hyderabad and Bangalore batters.

Irfan Pathan supported the raw Indian talent by stating that Mayank Yadav is a better bowler than Mitchell Starc in the present Indian T20 League season.

“Mayank Yadav is a better bowler than Mitchell Starc. Despite being new and inexperienced, Yadav has beaten the best batters in the world with six wickets in just two games. He knows where to pitch the ball to stop batters from scoring runs. He has enough knowledge to pitch the ball in the right areas to take wickets.

“He has bowled better than Starc. The Aussie pacer is finding it hard to get his line and length right despite being a World Cup winner and a match-winner for Australia. He has been taken for plenty of runs by the batters. On the other hand, Mayank has hardly conceded any runs,” Irfan Pathan said on a sports show.

“Mayank is the pride of India, and we all should celebrate his success without overthinking,” he concluded.
