Jason Roy pulls out of Indian T20 League citing bubble fatigue
A massive blow to the Gujarat franchise as Jason Roy pulled his name out of the upcoming season of Indian T20 League. The English opener who just had a child in the month of January stated bubble fatigue to be the reason to pull out of the tournament.
The Gujarat team is yet to find a replacement of the 31-year-old but as thing stands; Wriddhiman Saha is very likely to open with Shubman Gill in the initial few matches. Jason was the only specialist T20 opener that the team had and he not being around can cost Gujarat some fortune.
Roy was part of the Quetta team in the Pakistan T20 League where he was the highest runs-scorer for his team with 303 runs from just six matches. With an average of 50.50 and a strike-rate of 170.22, Roy was one of the top players of this year’s Pakistan T20 League.
Players like Dasun Sanaka, Suresh Raina, Steve Smith,Charith Asalanka,Shakib Al Hasan and so many others are available on the market but players like Martin Guptill can be an exciting option for the franchise.
