Mitchell Starc becomes the most expensive player in IND T20 League history

The record created not so long ago has been broken by ace speedster Mitchell Starc. The Australian international has been signed by Kolkata for a whopping INR 24.75 crore- the highest ever price for an IND T20 player ever! 

The signing amount exceeded the INR 20.50 crores that Hyderabad paid for his fellow countryman Pat Cummins earlier in the auction. The fast bowling pair are the first two players to breach the INR 20 crore mark in the history of the auctions. 

Starc, who last featured in the Ind T20 League in 2015, has 34 wickets from 27 games he competed in across the 2014 and 2015 seasons for Bangalore. Kolkata edged an intense bidding war with Gujarat to bag the fast bowler after Mumbai and Delhi led the race to acquire the services of the left-arm fast bowler.
