Mumbai replace injured Arshad Khan with Kumar Kartikeya Singh

At the moment, absolutely nothing is working for the Mumbai franchise. They have tried different permutations and combinations but all the roads led them to defeat. They are giving chances to a lot of young guns and thus replacing injured Arshad Khan for Kartikeya Singh makes sense. Now, this change will not raise a lot of eyebrows or this is not a change that’s necessary but the good thing is that the franchise is doing everything possible to win their first game of the season. Eight defeats in a row is a tough pill to swallow but Mumbai is at least making some moves which show their hunger to win games.

Before joining the main squad, Kartikeya was a part of the support staff. The Madhya Pradesh based pacer played nine first class matches, 19 List A games and eight t20 games so far and has done reasonably well so far. Now, the time has come to see whether he can swim in a big river or not!

“Kumar Kartikeya is a slow left-arm bowler and has represented Madhya Pradesh across all three formats of the game since making his debut in 2018. Kumar Kartikeya has been impressive in the nets and his learning trajectory on improving and fine tuning his bowling skills have earned him the call up to the main squad”, said Mumbai in an official statement.

He will be earning 20 lakhs and will be available from the next match when Mumbai takes on Rajasthan at DY Patil Sports Academy.
