Galle Titans (GT) and B-Love Kandy (BK) will square off in the fifth match of the Lanka T20 League 2023 at the R.Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday (August 1). GT led by Dasun Shanaka are currently placed third in the league standings with a net run rate (NRR) of 0.00. They held their nerves and defeated Dambulla Aura (DA) in the Super Over on Monday, after the match went right down the wire. 

Forty overs were not enough to separate the two sides, who both finished their respective innings at 180. However, Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s counter punch on Binura Fernando helped GT chase 10 in the super over. 

Wanindu Hasaranga led BK, on the other hand, are positioned at the bottom of the points table with a negative NRR OF -1.350. They started their campaign with a 27 run loss against the Colombo Strikers (CS)

Chasing 158 for victory, Kandy lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bundled out for 130. Plenty of their batters got  starts, but failed to make it count. Ahead of Tuesday’s fixture, BK will be keen to sort out their batting woes.
