Dambulla Sixers will cross swords with Colombo Strikers in the 20th match of the Lanka T20 League 2024. The game will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday, July 16. 

DS is sitting on the bottom of the points table with four points in seven matches but is still analytically alive in the tournament. This is a do-or-die game for them. The Mohammad Nabi-led side lost their last match by 54 runs against the Kandy Falcons. The Falcons drafted 222 runs batting first and the Sixers lost the match during the middle of the inning losing frequent wickets. Kusal Perera kept on fighting from one end smashing 74 runs off 40 deliveries but received no support from the other end which resulted in the humiliating loss. However, they still have a chance to make it to the eliminator round by defeating the Strikers on Tuesday evening. 

On the other side, CS has already made it to the playoffs with a phenomenal victory against Galle Marvels in their last encounter. Shadab Khan and Matheesha Pathirana took 6 wickets combinedly to restrict GM to just 138 runs. In the second innings, Muhammad Waseem and Glenn Phillips weaved a 50-run partnership to chase down the below-par target with 10 balls to spare.
