Kandy Falcons, after a thumping win by 6 wickets against the Dambulla Sixers in the inaugural match of the Lanka T20 League 2024, will now cross swords with Colombo Strikers in the 3rd game. The Pallekele International Cricket Stadium will host the game on Tuesday, July 2.

Their players' performed well in all departments which resulted in an amazing victory for the three-time champions. Dasum Shanaka starred with the ball picking upto 3 wickets while opening batter Dinesh Chandimal played a splendid innings in the middle. Shanaka also delivered with the bat, scoring 46* runs off just 15 balls in the end. With Angelo Mathews’ knock of 37 runs, Kandy managed to chase down a target of 180 runs in just 17.2 overs. 

On the other hand, Colombo will play their first game of the 2024 season. They have a strong team with T20 specialists like Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Glenn Phillips, Matheesha Pathirana, and their skipper Thisara Perera. Gurbaz performed well in the recently concluded World T20 League 2024. Hence some heavy responsibility will be on his shoulder to score good runs right from the beginning of the innings. 

Overall, it is going to be a firecracker of a show when these two sides face each other.
