T20 cricket fans will witness yet another big fight in the Lanka T20 League 2024. Galle Marvels and Jaffna Kings will fight for the 6th match at the Rangiri International Stadium in Dambulla on Friday, July 5. 

GM performed exceptionally well in this edition of the league. They have won both their matches played so far and are leading the points table. Their key players are in good form and the team management will look forward to them for getting the job done in this fixture too. On the other hand, JK’s performance was average this season. They have managed one win in two of their group-stage matches and are in third place in the points table. 

Jaffna and Galle met in the second match this season where the latter won by a margin of 5 wickets. The Kings batted first in that match and posted 177 runs for a loss of 7 wickets. Opener Pathum Nissanka provided a good start scoring 51 off 33 deliveries along with Avishka Fernando’s 59-run knock which took them to a defendable total. GM bowlers performed well as Zahoor Khan picked up three scalps along with Dwaine Pretorius and Isuru Udana taking two wickets apiece. 

In the 2nd inning of the game, Galle openers Alex Hales (65) and Niroshan Dickwella (47) accumulated most of the target which facilitated their win in a last-ball thriller. Asitha Fernando and Fabian Allen took two wickets each along with Dhananjaya de Silva picking one but all went in vain as they lost the match.
