Preview 

Galle Marvels will square off against Kandy Falcons in the 9th match of the Lanka T20 League 2024. The match is scheduled at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Sunday, July 7. 

Galle has won two of their three games so far. Niroshan Dickwella and Co. lost their previous match against Jaffna Kings by a margin of 5 wickets. Although that was their first defeat in this edition of the Lankan League, they will enter this encounter with a lot of positives. Tim Seifert remained unbeaten at a score of 104* runs in 63 balls and almost single-handedly carried the team to a respectable total of 187 runs. But their bowlers couldn’t keep the last smile as their bowlers failed to defend the target. Zahoor Khan took 2 wickets along with Dwaine Pretorius, Isuru Udana and Maheesh Theekshana picking up 1 each but the Kings chased the total with two balls to spare. 

On the contrary, Kandy has shared one win and loss in both their matches played so far. They will face the Colombo Strikers in the 7th match while we are writing this preview.

Match Prediction

Galle Marvels needs their batters to stand and create big partnerships. They have a good bowling attack with Shadab Khan being the leader of the pack. Kandy Falcons, on the other hand, lack good finishers and although they are picking up wickets, they are leaking huge runs in the process. Thus we think, GM is in a better position than KLF and are expected to win this match.
