Barca picks three crucial points against Getafe following a 1-0 victory

Barcelona continued their winning streak in week 7 of La Liga 2024/2025. Hosting Getafe in a duel at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium, Barcelona won with a score of 1-0 on Thursday, 26th September, La Blaugrana won through a goal scored by Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker registered his name on the scoreboard in the 19th minute.

This is the seventh goal scored by the 36-year-old striker until the 7th week of La Liga. Lewandowski brought Barcelona firmly to the top of the La Liga standings, always winning in the seven matches played. Lewandowski was chosen as Man of the Match in the Barcelona against Getafe match, he was the decider. Following this victory, Barca remained unbeaten side till match day 07, with seven wins out of 7 games.

Barcelona's backline was not tested enough in this match. There was only one shot on target from a Getafe player which Inaki Pena blocked. However, that doesn't mean Getafe didn't fight back. Barcelona's goal wasn't attacked much because they were dominant, especially in terms of ball possession.

The duet of Eric Garcia and Marc Casado played well in the duel against Getafe. Casado stood out with the passes he released. The 21-year-old player recorded a pass accuracy of up to 92% (out of 65 passes). Meanwhile, Eric Garcia is very strong in duels and attempts to filter out opponent attacks. Garcia won five aerial duels with opponents.

Lewandowski showed that age is no barrier for him. The 36-year-old was once again the winner for Los Cules. Lewandowski's goal was a combination of positioning and a striker's instinct. Lamine Yamal, as usual, also managed to perform well, he was just unlucky because a goal opportunity hit the goalpost.

Hansi Flick made four changes against Getafe. Ferran Torres provided a new option up front, although his presence was insufficient to help Barcelona get a second goal, the other three changes were an attempt by Hansi Flik to rotate. Hector Font and Gerard Martin were only introduced in the 88th minute and had plenty of time to get involved but that was not enough for them as the Hosts secured three crucial points against Getafe.
