Man City accept offer from Al Nassr for Aymeric Laporte

In the recent development, Man City are said to have accepted a bid from Al Nassr for Aymeric Laporte. The offer, as of now confidential, has met City’s valuation of the 29 year old and he is free to discuss terms with the Saudi Pro League franchise.

Laporte is travelling with Pep Gaurdiola’s squad in Athens ahead of the Super League clash against Sevilla. Al Nassr are expecting to make the Spanish centre-back their latest big name signing following the arrival of Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, Alex Telles and stalwart Cristiano Ronaldo.

City have been open to hear offers for Laporte this summer after the defender didn’t get much game time at the Etihad last season. The club have also signed Josko Gvardiol- another promising centre back- for an astonishing €90m this summer, further lessening Laporte’s chances for regular games.

The reigning champions also have John Stones, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji as alternatives in the central defence.

At the same time, according to sources City are still entertaining offers for João Cancelo. The Portuguese full back was not part of the squad’s season opener against Burnley and if the right bid comes, will be allowed to leave the club.

City are in discussions with Barcelona over a loan deal with an obligation for a permanent transfer, but if we’re were to believe the sources, the Spanish club is yet to make a formal offer.
