Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen Are Likely To Leave Soon Man United

Manchester United have decided that two players will not be with the club next season, while other players are on the brink but their futures have not been decided. Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen are both entering the final year of their contracts at Old Trafford and the decision has been made for them to leave when their deals expire.

According to some reports, sales could even be made in the January transfer window, but both are clearly in their final months at the club. Eriksen is entering his third season with the Red Devils and looks set to be a backup player this term, as is Lindelof who has been with the club since joining from Benfica in 2017. Lindelof is yet to feature this season but has made 259 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United.

Veteran defender Jonny Evans is also out of contract at the end of the season and looks unlikely to be with the club for much longer. What is less clear is the future of Harry Maguire, whose contract expires in June 2025, but the club has the option to extend it for another year.

The 31-year-old has played in all three Premier League games this season for the Red Devils, starting two of them. However, with Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt now available and Leny Yoro set to return from injury, the Englishman will lose his place. Amad Diallo is also entering the final year of his contract with the Red Devils, but the club also have the option to extend his deal by another 12 months and they would certainly do so rather than let him leave on a free transfer.

Manchester United return after the international break with a trip to Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday. Erik ten Hag will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats to Brighton and Liverpool.
