There are many problems in the team and thus even when they are playing as a team, the problems are too large for them at the moment. Lucknow lost their last match against Rajasthan but the team will be optimistic against Mumbai as they have a proper balanced squad; something that the Mumbai team lags in this tournament.

Ever since the auction happened, the five-time champions looked weak especially with Jofra Archer missing the tournament. The team went from Trent Boult, Rahul Chahar, and Nathan Coulter-Nile to Murugan Ashwin, Basil Thampi and Tymal Mills. It’s not a matter of disrespect but that’s a massive fall. Jasprit Bumrah cannot win you matches every day. When it comes to batting, Dewald Brevis, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma are doing the entire job while the others are batting terribly. A true Mumbai fan will literally say, “Pata nahi kya ho raha hai, bas aa rahe hai aur ja rahe hai''! Things need to change massively in the team. Captain Rohit Sharma needs to lead by example. Ishan Kishan was bought for 15 crores but the young wicket-keeper batter failed to impress so far. What Mumbai will bring to the game, no one knows but everyone needs to give more than 100% to get on the winning sheet, else not!

Lucknow may have lost their last match but there are so many positives. Quinton De Kock is in superb form and Marcus Stoinis showed his calibre with the bat in his hand. The team made a poor call of sending Stoinis down the order and that proved costly. Deepak Hooda and Jason Holder looked good as well. It’s just that Captain KL Rahul needs to show his class now. With that in place, the team will be one of the toughest teams to beat. Stoinis and Holder help the team massively in order to find a balance. Coming to bowling, there of course is a room for improvement. Ravi Bishnoi was retained with the hope that the young leg-spinner will continue his fantastic form but things didn’t pan out that way.

Dewald Brevis looked fantastic in the last match. Baby AB looked like a replica of AB De Villiers in the last match and if he keeps going, he is a player to look out for!

Quinton De Kock is in some form at the moment. He is giving Lucknow the much needed start which the middle order is capitalising.

Marcus Stoinis in his very first match of the season showed his class. Batting deep down the order he scored some quick runs but couldn’t help his team get over the line.

Tilak Verma is a must pick. He’s in tremendous form and not picking him will be a mistake.
