Mbappe's brace guided PSG to secure next round berth in UCL

The French man Kylian Mbappe performed exceptionally well when PSG faced Real Sociedad in the second leg of the 2023/2024 Champions League Round of 16, on Tuesday (05th March 2024). In the duel at the Reale Arena, PSG won with a score of 2-1 not only did he score a goal, but Mbappe's powerful kick even damaged the the Hosts' goal net. Mbappe has been a catalyst for PSG and the 25-year-old sublime striker scored two goals in the 15th and 56th minutes. Meanwhile, the goal that marked Sociedad's resistance was scored by Mikel Merino in the 89th minute. With this PSG sealed the berth for the next round in the UCL after Luis Enrique's team won 4-1 on aggregate over Sociedad.

PSG's first goal came from a quick counter-attack, Ousmane Dembele passes the ball to Mbappe. Through excellent individual skills, Mbappe successfully outwitted Zubeldia and Hamari Traore and he then fired a hard kick. The ball released by PSG's talisman went with a high level of accuracy not only was it accurate, but Mbappe's kick also looked hard and went into the goal quite smoothly. The ball hit the left side of the Real Sociedad goal net. At first glance, nothing important happened from that moment but the goal looked like one that Mbappe could score. However, there was something special as many media houses captured the moment when the Hosts' goal net was damaged because of Mbappe's kick.

Real Sociedad gave Kylian Mbappe too much open space on several occasions and the 25-year-old forward could sprint to catch through passes or dribble. Mbappe used his speed freely and it was one of the best moments that occurred at the Reale Arena as quoted by CBS Sports, Mbappe recorded a running speed of 10.9 seconds per 100 meters and this record is only one second less than the world record of track athlete Usain Bolt. One can imagine how brisk Real Madrid's attack line will be next season if they have Mbappe, Vinicius, Bellingham and Rodrygo.
