Mbappè in Real Madrid talks but deal not finalised
Real Madrid are currently in talks with PSG star forward over signing on a fee transfer this summer and are confident about closing a deal soon as per reliable sources.
It was earlier reported that Mbappé has informed PSG that he would be leaving the Ligue 1 side as a free agent when his contract expires at the end of this season, after realising that his future lies with European Giants.
Madrid submitted a formal contract offer to the French forward last month, while PSG were still optimistic of persuading the 25 year old to stay.
According to sources Madrid were now confident of closing in on an agreement in the days to come, but a contract is yet to be signed, with a few details still needing to be straightened out.
Mbappé came from the bench to score a 78th minute penalty in PSG’s 2-0 win over Nantes in Ligue 1 on Saturday. He was also on the score sheet in the French club ‘s 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad in last week’s Champions League Round of 16 first leg.
Referred to as the next big thing, Kylian has already scored a total of 32 goals across all competitions this season, amidst the speculation surrounding his future.
Mbappè has been Madrid's top transfer target for quite some time now and after being on the verge of acquiring his services in 2022- before a change of thought saw Mbappé sign a contract extension at PSG-- Los Blancos are now closer than ever to seal a deal with the World Cup winner.
Madrid are on top of the La Liga points table, ahead of close rivals Girona, who play on Monday, and defeated RB Leipzeg 1-0 away in their Champions League round of 16 leg last week.
Jude Bellingham with 16 goals has been the leading goal scorer for Madrid this season followed by Joselu and Rodrygo with eight apiece.
